The Real Wealth Home Run

By admin Posted in Success /

I once saw a commercial for an investment company that showed a baseball player taking batting practice and hitting ball after ball to the same spot in center field.  The commercial basically was recommending a steady consistent approach to investing to ensure steady and consistent returns.
Then I thought about this approach comparing it to everyday life and success.  It seems as if we are always looking for the home run.  The American culture is defined by wanting it big and wanting it now.  This same approach is what is leading to the average Americans downfall.  Wanting it now can be in association with the great phrase “buy now and pay later” or another phrase that is not so great “file for bankruptcy.”  We have to have the brand new i-phone or that shiny new mega SUV that guzzles gas by the gallon.  We rush out and find the fastest and easiest way to buy these luxury items, the easiest way is financing or just pulling out the fantastic plastic.
Ok, think for a minute if their were no credit cards and everything was buy now and pay now, think if you went to the car dealership and wrote a check or brought a suitcase full of cash to buy a 65,000 dollar hummer.  What would your approach to life be if you had to pay for everything in cash at the time of purchase?
I guarantee that things would change a bit, the good news is, you probably would find completely new talents that you didn’t think that you had, and you would make far better decisions actually understand the value of your money.
Try a new approach for a while and just see every thing as a cash payment and budget as if everything is cash only.  Maybe go to your local book store and but a few planning books and start building your wealth by building your wealth knowledge not building your dept by buying anything and every thing that you think that you need right now it will only cause you stress.  If you take this new approach you soon will be able to have anything that you desire.
